i-22 Sikatan, a multirole light fighter jet at the T-50 and KF-21 level

Let me introduce you, this is a multirole light fighter jet designed by a domestic company, called the i-22 Sikatan .

 

The letter i is taken from the word Infoglobal, the number 22 indicates the year 2022, and Sikatan is the name of a small, agile bird.

The aircraft was developed by PT Infoglobal Teknologi Semesta (Infoglobal) which has been engaged in fighter/military aircraft avionics, radar data processing, weapons control systems and defense application software since 1992.

 

In the design process, Infoglobal partnered with domestic aerospace design company Vimana R&D & Engineering.

In a conversation with Airspace Review on November 2, Infoglobal President Director Adi Sasongko said the i-22 was between the T-50 and KF-21 levels.

This tandem-seat jet is a multirole fighter jet designed to carry out combat and attack missions.

Aircraft can be equipped with a variety of weapons including air-to-air missiles, air-to-ground missiles and bombs.

 
 

The design has adopted a stealth character with a low radar image and uses composite materials. The aircraft is equipped with two engines to support maximum combat performance.

The i-22 Sikatan has compact dimensions with a length of 12.5 m, a wingspan of 7 m and a height of 3.5 m.

The aircraft is designed to be capable of conducting air combat and attacks with extreme maneuvers.

Apart from combat and attack missions, the i-22 Sikatan can carry out electronic warfare, intelligence, surveillance and long-range reconnaissance.

The prototype of the i-22 Sikatan jet is expected to be realized between 2025-2026 and will be built at Infoglobal's new facility at Ngloram Airport, Blora, Central Java.
