The Acting Rector of Unhan RI stated that RIDU-SAT, or Republic Indonesia Defense University Satellite, is an initiative aimed at developing an Indonesian Nano Satellite. This project is the result of an extraordinary collaboration between Cadet Students guided by Satellite Lecturers and Practitioners from the Indonesian Defense University, the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), PT. Infoglobal Teknologi Semesta, and the ORARI Community. The concept of RIDU-SAT is based on the need for long-distance communication and emergency services in Indonesia, which consists of a vast archipelago. On this occasion, Cadet Student Eliana Maharani from the Electrical Engineering Program and Cadet Student Amelia Chandra from the Mechanical Engineering Program at Unhan RI presented material on the RIDU-Sat project.
The event continued with a visit to the RIDU-Sat Ground Control Station. Here, the audience had the opportunity to review the equipment used in satellite control and monitoring. They were able to observe the tracking of the IO-86 satellite as it passed overhead. This control station is equipped with advanced technology that enables monitoring of the satellite’s position, speed, and other data.
